Tokyohunter 2008 Update 1
Well, It's been a while since the last update...
The official Tokyohunter website is soon to get updated as it been under construction for longer than planned, so work on it will resume very soon. ( www.tokyohunter.com ). The buttons currently do not function there but will soon!
Since the last update 4 tracks were played as part of that week's guest session artist, last year over on www.dubsounds.com bi-monthly radio show hosted by Shaun who runs the site there.
The show had a test run of a few months and is planned to return at some point in the future.
The site has a great forum for musicians (particularly users of synths and recording techniques) as well as those generally interested in music influenced by electronics/synthesizers but may not themselves be musicians... all are welcome!
There is also an extensive library of drum & rhythm machine samples set which are available there recorded to a very high quality standard
The new Tokyohunter kitlist has recently expanded to include more hardware as well as software based synths. Details of this will be on the Tokyohunter site.
More news soon.

Tokyohunter blog 1 The original Tokyohunter
Tokyohunter - what's in a name?
The Tokyohunter name was created several years ago (in the late 90's) for an ongoing project between myself and a friend (Akiya-kun) based in Tokyo. The project was established to hunt down rare items, services and places in Tokyo and to make them available/known through the Tokyohunter website.
Since 2000 the Tokyohunter name has been used as my band name and is registered online at bandreg.com ( also known as bandname.com).The music encompasses all my electronic music influences throughout the decades ranging from early 80s stuff from John Foxx/YMO/Kraftwerk to the more recent sounds of Higher Intelligence Agency and Orbital. The resulting sound being distinctly the sound of Tokyohunter... There were up til recently about 10 tracks available to download or play over on the now defunct Electromancer website. The regulars from that community having migrated now to the www.nervejam.com forum.
The official Tokyohunter site (www.tokyohunter.com) was set up several years ago and is currently being updated and will include new music, video and our online shop.
It has been noticed that others on the internet have started using the tokyohunter name in Korea and Japan.( originality not obviously being important to such individuals!). As the saying goes "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" ! Maybe they have read my Tokyohunter bio online before and been inspired? The original Tokyohunter is here to stay...accept no substitute!
More soon
